" To decide, to be at the level of choice, is to take responsibility for your life and to be in control of your life. "
--Abbie M. Dale
I have a cold or something... cough, sore throat, stuffy/runny nose, lethargic, body aches... blehhhhhhh !
E-mail from brother Robin. He evidently read the BLOG about " Carkeek Park " ( previous post ) and added some of his observations. Though Robin is younger than I by 5+ years, Mom did re-locate to the area, for a short time with only Robin, of (5) children, in tow. His perspective is of High School age and older, and he has lived in the general area for most of his years since. My perspective is of a child 8½ years of age and younger. Interesting in the differences of perspective. I'd be interested in the recollections of my sister Peg and brother Jim. I think Debi was a bit too young at the time... could be wrong !
(4) poems in the offering ! One late in submission for the contest... oh well !
My entries... " Poetry in Motion" daily contest:
Moratorium
Patiently I wait
seeing beyond time...
seemingly
Life in Heaven desired...
certainly the only
true peace

The Choice
Foolishness
shrieks cold
drowned in the oceans
of hot dust
by displaced souls
if Love and
Salvation forsaken
:Bobby Nichols 2-19-2004
Scourge
Trees abruptly end
Nature in ruin dies where
course the paths of men
:Bobby Nichols 2-19-2004
Mountain Lake
Pristine mounts on high
Snowcapped marching to the shore
Lake glass reflecting

" Moratorium "... Awaiting God's Kingdom... this poem was late by 10 minutes - missed the deadline of 9:00 p.m. EST. I was vacillating with this version and a darker version, the indecision time consuming, as well as the edit.
" The Choice "... We have a choice... my take.
" Scourge "... a Haiku: I'm not a 'Green' person, but I do respect nature and am continually appalled at what 'we' are doing to nature... this poem a 'bit of tid' from my mind set.
" Mountain Lake "... a Haiku: Purdy lake between purdy mountains... PURDY !
Took a flu/cold relief Advil pill a moment ago... bed to follow !
